BSI Launches AI Education Webinar

Last month, Bursting Silver launched its first webinar aimed at educating member-based organizations on the opportunities presented by artificial intelligence.

AI for Growth & Member Engagement Webinar: Future-Proofing Non-Profits was hosted by our very own Keith Stoute and featured guest speakers showcasing real-world A.I. use cases from the Toronto Police Association, the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba, and the iMIS Users Group. Bursting Silver’s 2025 Retreat with LiveDifferent

This past April, 48 of our team members embarked on a six-day retreat to the Dominican Republic that was unlike anything we’ve done before. In partnership with LiveDifferent, a Canadian charity devoted to community transformation through service, Bursting Silver had the privilege of helping build three homes for families in need.

Over the course of the week, we built more than homes, we built relationships, gained perspective, and reconnected with a sense of shared purpose. Whether it was carrying cinder blocks under the Caribbean sun, sharing a meal with a local family, or hearing stories from the community, each experience pushed us to reflect on the privileges we often take for granted, and the responsibility we carry to give back where we can.

LiveDifferent was more than a facilitator, they were the heart of the experience. Their extraordinary volunteer team, made up of selfless individuals who dedicate their own time to helping others, brought energy, empathy, and expertise to every moment of the trip. Working alongside them, as well as local contractors, gave us a deeper appreciation for what true service looks like in action.

Now, three months later, the impact of the retreat continues to echo within our team. Many of us have spoken about how the experience shifted our outlook, making us more mindful, more grateful, and more motivated to serve. From simple changes in day-to-day awareness to new initiatives in our own communities, the trip planted seeds that are still growing. At its core, this retreat was a reminder that business can be a force for good, and that the bonds we forge when we work together in service of others are some of the strongest we’ll ever build.

We are deeply grateful to LiveDifferent for their leadership, heart, and vision. Their volunteer team exemplifies what it means to live with purpose, and we are honoured to have played a small role in the incredible work they do every day. As we reflect on the retreat and all it taught us, we returned to our work renewed, not just with suntans and photos, but with a deeper sense of unity and purpose.

Employee Spotlight: Ellen Turner

You may recognize Ellen from one of her many speaking engagements and webinars with iMIS Users Group. Ellen joined BSI in 2021, and has made a lasting impact as a Senior Consultant, contributing to seven successful iMIS EMS implementations in these last four years. With a strong foundation as a former iMIS 2017 client, Ellen brings a unique perspective that helps clients understand and navigate the system with confidence.

Her work spans events, membership, and commerce modules, where she delivers solutions that enhance usability and data integrity. She also provides customized training and reporting to support informed decision-making. Ellen’s dedication to growth is evident in her multiple ASI certifications, including CiP, CTCA, COWA, and CiSE.

A passionate member of the iMIS community, Ellen serves on the iUG Programs Committee and regularly presents at conferences and webinars across North America. Based in Virginia, she enjoys axe throwing, pickleball, gaming, reading, and cheering on the Washington Nationals in her free time.
