Toronto Police Association:
Strengthening Security and Streamlining Operations with iMIS EMS
Toronto Police Association (TPA)
The Toronto Police Association (TPA) sought a modern solution that could support its evolving operational needs while safeguarding sensitive member information. With thousands of active and historical cases, complex data relationships, and multiple systems relied upon across departments, TPA needed a unified platform that could simplify processes, improve accuracy, and deliver a more secure and responsive digital experience for its members. Implementing iMIS EMS created a foundation that now supports greater transparency, improved service delivery, and a significantly more efficient organizational workflow.
The Challenge
Before adopting iMIS EMS, TPA relied on a collection of separate systems that required extensive manual effort to maintain. Staff were often required to re-enter information across multiple platforms, creating duplication, delays, and increased risk of inconsistency.
The case management system presented some of the greatest challenges. It was both complex and heavily used, containing thousands of cases that were often interconnected. Many cases involved multiple members, and each required the secure storage and organization of sensitive documents. Managing such a large volume of information within a fragmented environment made day-to-day operations cumbersome and left little room for optimization or process improvement.
TPA also needed a more secure and efficient way to manage insurance and benefits information. Their existing setup relied on processes that were labor-intensive and lacked the streamlined visibility that staff and members needed. Overall, the Association required a modern, centralized solution that could support future growth and ensure the protection of confidential data.
Our Solution
TPA partnered with BSI to implement iMIS EMS as a single CRM that could consolidate all systems into one secure, scalable platform. This unification eliminated the fragmentation that had previously required significant manual intervention, making it easier for staff to work efficiently and maintain data integrity.
To enhance the member experience, BSI created a new member portal within iMIS RiSE. This portal offers a secure, user-friendly interface where members can quickly access information, submit updates, and track progress on requests. By reducing the need for offline or manual processes, the portal simplifies communication and significantly shortens processing times.
A robust insurance and benefits system was also developed within iMIS to support both staff and members. This new framework improves the transition process for members, ensures greater accuracy, and decreases reliance on external systems that offered less visibility and security. Staff can now manage insurance and benefits information within the same CRM used for case management and member records, creating a cohesive environment for all administrative processes.
The Results
The introduction of iMIS EMS has transformed TPA’s digital ecosystem. By consolidating all systems into one secure CRM, the Association can now manage complex workflows with ease and reduce the manual work that previously consumed staff time. Sensitive member data is protected within a centralized, controlled environment, offering greater confidence in the handling of confidential information.
The new member portal has created a seamless digital experience for users. Members can access information faster, complete submissions online, and monitor the status of their requests with improved transparency. This shift not only enhances service delivery but also strengthens trust in the Association’s digital services.
Insurance and benefits administration is now more efficient and visible, with processes occurring directly within iMIS instead of through less secure third-party systems. Staff can support members more effectively while reducing administrative overhead and ensuring accuracy across all touchpoints.
Together, these improvements position the Toronto Police Association for long-term stability and growth, supported by a modern, integrated system that evolves with their needs.
