The Alberta Association of Architects needed a dependable, future-ready web solution that would support both their members and internal staff. The Challenge

AAA’s web environment was suddenly at risk when their existing provider announced an end-of-life plan for the technology that powered their website. In order to continue using the provider’s services, AAA would have been required to rebuild its website on an entirely new platform. The proposed investment came with a staggering 600 percent increase in cost, creating a serious barrier to moving forward with the upgrade. Without a sustainable and cost-effective path, AAA needed a solution that would preserve its website functionality, minimize disruption for members and staff, and fit within the organization’s long-term digital strategy. The association also wanted to ensure its website would align with its upcoming upgrade to iMIS EMS, making future system transitions seamless.

Our Solution

BSI worked closely with AAA to recreate their existing website inside iMIS RiSE, allowing them to maintain the structure, features, and experience that users were familiar with. By replicating the website directly within RiSE, AAA was able to eliminate the need for an external web platform, significantly reducing ongoing licensing and service costs. To ensure a dynamic and engaging user experience, BSI configured a range of out-of-the-box RiSE components, including accordions and repeaters. These components allowed AAA to present content in a structured, modern way while preserving flexibility for staff to manage and update pages with ease. Using RiSE also meant the website could directly access the iMIS database, removing the need for additional integrations or middleware. This streamline created a more unified digital environment where member information, events, registrations, and directory data could flow naturally between the website and the core system. In preparation for AAA’s upcoming transition to iMIS EMS, BSI ensured that all site components were chosen and configured with cloud-readiness in mind. This approach keeps AAA’s website aligned with future upgrades, reducing risk and ensuring a smooth path forward.

AAA now benefits from a modern, responsive website that lives directly within their iMIS platform.
