iMIS Default Account Expiration

By default, iMIS user accounts expire after 5 years. In the vast majority of iMIS configurations, we recommend extending this expiration period; otherwise members will be prevented from logging in to the organization's website 5 years after their account was created.

Below are the instructions for changing the expiration date in iMIS:

In iMIS Staff View:

Settings -> Contacts -> Account Management -> Default expiration date, in years from account creation (CreateAccountDefaultExpirationDate)

In iMIS Desktop:

iMIS - System Setup - Set up customer web components - Create account configuration - Default expiration date, in years from account creation (CreateAccountDefaultExpirationDate)

To update existing accounts, we use a SQL script to update the core tables in iMIS. The script below will set the expiration date to 2099-12-31 for all records in iMIS that currently expire before 2099-12-31.

WHILE (2 > 1) BEGIN
BEGIN TRANSACTION
UPDATE TOP ( 2000 ) Name_Security SET EXPIRATION_DATE = '2099-12-31'
WHERE EXPIRATION_DATE < '2099-12-31'
IF @@ROWCOUNT = 0
BEGIN COMMIT TRANSACTION
BREAK
END
COMMIT TRANSACTION
-- 1 second delay
WAITFOR DELAY '00:00:01' END
GO

WHILE (2 > 1) BEGIN
BEGIN TRANSACTION
UPDATE TOP ( 2000 ) UserMain SET ExpirationDate = '2099-12-31'
WHERE ExpirationDate < '2099-12-31'
IF @@ROWCOUNT = 0
BEGIN COMMIT TRANSACTION
BREAK
END
COMMIT TRANSACTION
-- 1 second delay
WAITFOR DELAY '00:00:01' END
GO
